Join artist Harriet Wilkinson in creating your own original printed artworks using dried flora and fauna collected from the Sussex landscape.
This workshop is the perfect introduction to monotype printmaking, drawing inspiration from botanical forms. You will explore the fundamentals of printmaking while experimenting with composition, colour, texture on, and form. Embracing the unpredictable nature of the process, you will create a collection of unique prints that celebrate the beauty and intricacy of the natural world.
No prior experience required; this class is ideal for beginners. In this small group, you will learn:
• The fundamentals of monotype printmaking
• How to use botanical materials to create layered and expressive prints
• Techniques for exploring composition, colour, texture, and mark-making
• How to develop a series of experimental studies and resolved prints
All materials will be provided, including a selection of seasonal plants and flowers, inks, papers, rollers, and printmaking tools. By the end of the workshop, you will leave with a collection of original prints and experimental studies to take home. Refreshments will be served and there will be 10% of all purchases from Heath + Down on the day.
Maximum of 8 people.
£50 per person
